Today, I was facilitating a tele-seminar with my Achiever Group
- The Achiever Programme (TAP) for Entrepreneurs - where we were
talking about visualising the future. How everything starts with
thought and why it is so important to take the time to think about
what you want.
This is about pressing the pause button and taking a good look
at what you have and where you are heading. The group (TAP
Programme) were saying that in some ways it can be easier to
visualise how you want to perform in a sport. For example,
imagining the trajectory of a golf ball that you are going to hit.
Or as one of the group was describing, visualising how they are
going take the twists and turns on a race track when they are motor
racing.
A key though, is to take the time out to relax and develop a
relaxed mental attitude. Practice imagining what you want for your
business or career for example. Some of the most successful people
I have met with huge responsibility are very relaxed. They take
time out, usually first thing in the morning to carefully think
things through. Most people do not, because really thinking and
imagining with purpose is hard work.
Through this process successful people use their imagination to
create their vision. They first dream about what they want and then
and only then do they create it.
If you want to achieve something significant, start creating it
in your mind first. Work with it until it becomes a compulsion and
then becomes inevitable. If you want to embark on this process, I
give some guidance on visualising in my e programme 'How to Be
More to Achieve More'.
Below is a video courtesy of the creators of the Secret. This
was a movie that was clearly also created first in thought. It may
also give you something to reflect on when you are creating your
ideal future in your mind.
