Everyday I work with myself to keep my mental state as positive
and open as possible. This week I have been writing a personal
development programme called 'How to Be More to Achieve
More'.
I am producing it as in a recent survey a large number of my
mailing list stated that they just 'don't know where to start' to
improve themselves.
One of the 7 principles that I share in the book is about right
thought. This really got me thinking about the systems I have for
maintaining my momentum. One of those is that if I have a negative
thought, I immediately look up and think of a more positive way of
re-framing it.
OK so we are talking about positive thinking here. For me this is
about keeping thoughts constructive so you can be productive.
Yesterday we had a terrible incident in the UK where a gunman
killed 12 people and injured many more. The news was flooded with
it. The only way to look up here was to listen to it once and
refocus my mind on something else.
I think a key tip here is to notice when your thinking, language
or body language is down ie unproductive and then to look up and
consider an alternative perspective or focus on something else. A
perspective that keeps you productive rather than
unproductive.
Another strong recommendation is to start thinking of all the
things you are grateful for.
The list may well be a lot longer than you think.
On the 29th June 2010 at 8pm there will be a free tele-seminar
called 'How to Stop Faffing About and Achieve More' with myself and
Mike Pagan International speaker and author. More details can be
