A very HAPPY NEW YEAR and NEW DECADE to you. Here in the UK, it
is a very cold and beautiful start. Below is a snowman my son and I
made in our garden last night.

It has been a memorable morning today. Debating with my parents
whether they could make a 100 mile drive to my home through
the snow. The reason being is that we need their help as I am
taking my wife into hospital tomorrow. She will be giving birth to
our child tomorrow by caesarian section. Someone needs to look
after our 3.5 year old so I can make the birth! So a big New Year
change for us. I am pleased to say my parents made it!
Also I spent 2 hours clearing the drive of snow today, so they
could get their car up it. I enjoyed it. Sometimes a bit of manual
labour or exercise is a great way to get the ideas flowing.
So what is so significant about a new year? The truth is that the
success of our year will be determined by the quality of OUR
THINKING and the way we PUT OUR THOUGHTS INTO ACTION.
This requires some careful PLANNING AND IMAGINING. Everything we
see around us was first derived by imagination. I have had some
great feedback on the exercise in Decembers' newsletter which
really stretches your imagination. Several people have been sharing
the positive feedback they received from forwarding it on to
others. If you want it, sign up to the newsletter in the next
couple of weeks. Then I will forward it to you.
I would strongly recommend taking the time out to plan your
year. Think through what it is you want to achieve. Make a decision
to follow it through. Make it worthy of your time. Make the most of
yourself this year.
Also remember that making the most of yourself is different for
each individual. A year is a short time horizon. However, what you
can achieve in 10 years could be phenomenal. If you put your mind
to it. Don't be put off by looking at someone who so excels at what
you want to do, that it just seems pointless. Remember that person
will have been through lots of trials and development to get where
they are today. With a few years work they may become your
peer?
This also means SETTING GOALS. Which is why on February 2nd I
shall be interviewing a world record holding transatlantic rower
called Kathy Tracey. For subscribers to the Be More. Achieve More
newsletter, access to the call will be completely free. The call is
called 'GOALS to VICTORY'.
In 2009 those people who worked with me and set ambitious goals
and followed them through had some tremendous breakthroughs and
successes. Having mentors to help you is an essential ingredient
for success. My mentor helped me achieve more breakthroughs and
successes. Find someone you respect. Make 2010 your year!
I wish you a fantastic year!
Chris
