Interview with Mette Bloch Twice World Champion Rower with Download

18 November 2009 by Chris Cooper

Last night I interviewed 'Twice World Champion Rower' Mette Bloch, with an invited audience of 12 senior executives and entrepreneurs. What an inspirational experience.

Mette Bloch

Mette's achievements also include sports presenting and motivational speaking on subjects like personal development, coaching, team building and sports. She has also written the books "Dare you become a winner" and "Be your own coach". Also shortly we are anticipating 'Attraction to Action'. She is a celebrity in Denmark and has on average an incredible 200 speaking engagements a year! Mette has just booked a 1000 seat conference hall in Copenhagen for her own stand up comedy show in 2010.

The purpose of the call was to relate some of the key success principles we have studied within the Be More Achieve More 'Wealth Keys Retreat' and 'Think and Grow Rich' tele-seminar to the story of a very high achiever. Also to realize that perhaps training to win a World Championship rowing event may not be within us. However, we all have in us the capacity to achieve something exceptional and unique.

Mette shares with us her beliefs on goal setting, visualisation and following your worthy ideal. She talks about the success principles that have helped her achieve her dreams. We discuss intuition, law of attraction and coping with low points including, divorce and illness.

We also hear her story of how Matthew Pinsent was coached by Stephen Redgrave to World Championship gold. How you can achieve great self discipline. The importance of taking opportunities and much more. To download as a free gift click here.

There were some fantastic questions from the audience. Thanks very much to all of you who joined the call last night and for your feedback. Here are some of your comments:

Already I have used a gem given last night. Today I have been coaching a group of teachers and one of the challenges that arose was around gaining balance between work, home and self. Into my mind popped Mette's story about motivating women to run and how the biggest hurdle was often changing your clothes. It might not sound like a big insight but to the person with whom I shared that story it made a big impact - so thank you. The session was valuable on many levels. Carroll

Just to thank-you for organising the call with Mette - I really enjoyed listening to her. As I said on the call, she brought many new elements to the material we have been studying and this really did bring it to life for me. Janice

I really enjoyed the call - and as usual got a lot out of it.  Thank you so much for the opportunity of linking in with you on this. Geraldine

Again here is the download link to that call.

For those on the call last night (or anyone listening to the recording) please do add your thoughts to the comments section of this blog. Also if you have any more questions for Mette, perhaps she will answer some of them here!

Best wishes, Chris

Email from Mette re: which books she recommends:…I’ll answer any question!!! :o) don’t worry about that!!! :o) – Someone asked me which book I was reading at the moment, and to be honest, I am in a mood where I want it to be funny – so right now it’s “Friends like these” by Danny Wallace. – One really good book that helped me through my toughest period of my life (my arthritis) was “The Genie in your genes” by Dawson Church, and “The Biology of belief” by Bruce Lipton… If you don’t want to read Bruce Liptons book, you can see a motivational talk by him on youtube… it’s in seven bits… but REALLY something worth while…. It takes quantum physics in the deal… :o)

It was a privilege to be part of the group conversation with Mette Bloch – she conveyed a wonderful mix of determination, imagination, passion and humility. Moreover I was so enlightened by how she relayed her experience of life and top level sport and related these to the changing and challenging world of business and commerce. Amongst many of her stories of life in the competitive arena in rowing, the thing that struck a chord with me was how she believed that the most profound message we can take from it – and into the world of business was ..........”Never stop training – no matter what level you achieve!”.
