How can you radically increase the probability of being at your
happiest and most successful everyday?
A great concept I suggest to people is to consider the 3B's. I
picked this up from a book by Mark Victor Hanson and Robert G Allen
called 'Cracking the Millionaire Code'.
The 3 B's are 'Being', 'Body' and 'Brain'. These are the big
rocks that should be attended to every single day to manage our
state of mind and performance. Often with a busy work life we put
them last.
'Being' is about taking some time out to relax. For me this can be
walking my dog, relaxing music (or playing guitar), some
meditation, reading my vision. This morning I was in Bradgate park
in Leicestershire. Looking down over the rolling heath and crags,
watching the deer and skylarks on a cold sunny morning was just
great. I am now at my desk full of energy and relaxed with a very
content dog at my feet.
'Body' - get some exercise where possible. There is nothing like
it for improving your feeling of well being. Feel happier, get more
done and at a higher quality. Personally I find in the morning
better as it sets you up for the day.
'Brain' - read something that is inspirational every day. This
might be your vision or pick up a great book. Listen to a CD
programme. Do this and it sparks off all sorts of ideas.
A key to success is discipline! Also not beating yourself up
when you slip! Try it for a month and notice the difference. If you
have no time for any of that then take a look at your typical day.
Could you be more efficient? Do you need to make some changes?
Could you listen to something more productive in the car? Or on
your ipod?
