OK I admit it. I enjoy the X Factor. Why? Because I enjoy seeing
young people giving everything and following a dream. I also
enjoy seeing them grow during the programme. I want to raise a
couple of points relevant to us all:
1. Dealing with Failure
Last night a girl band called 'Kandy Rain' left. It is important
to remember 'Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent
success'. Look for the opportunities from every situation and be
grateful for the experience.
Very successful people always experience many disapointments
along the way. These prepare them for life on a bigger platform.
The key is to see these for the great learning experiences they
are. These make you stronger and more capable of handling bigger
situations now and in the future. They are absolutely
invaluable.
As Napolean Hill says in his book 'Think and Grow Rich'-'You may
have been disappointed, you may have suffered setbacks and defeats
in hard economic times, you may have felt the great heart within
you crushed until it bled. Take courage for these have tempered the
spiritual metal of which you are made - they are assets of
incomparable value'.
2. Age
If you are over 35 it is easy to watch and feel you are past it.
Mind you, the only way I would been on the programme at 20 would
have been as one of the bad ones. However, remember the vast
majority of people make their biggest contributions in life well
beyond the age of 35. While we are here, there is always time.
Have a great day
Chris
